● Food coloring or food gel may be used to dye the batter, just make certain to incorporate it well.
● Instead of candy toppings you can use dots of whipped cream (especially for the star at the top). Just be aware it will melt quickly on the warm waffle.

● 1 cup Flour
● 3 TBSP Sugar
● 1 tsp Baking Powder
● 1 Egg
● ¾ cup Milk
● 1/3 cup Vegetable Oil
● 1 drop Green Food Coloring Gel
● 1 small Tootsie Roll
● 10 Mega M&Ms
Christmas Tree Waffle Mise en Place:
● Round Waffle Maker
● Bowl
● Nonstick Cooking Spray
● Spatula or Spoon
● Measuring Cup
● Measuring Spoons
Christmas Tree Waffle Recipe Directions:
● Combine flour, sugar, and baking powder, in a medium-sized mixing bowl and blend together.
● Add in egg, milk, and oil; mix well.
● Add a drop of green gel food coloring (gel food coloring is what makes it bright green); mix well.
● Pour brown batter into greased waffle maker.
● Cook on medium heat until timer/light goes off. (Open the waffle maker, if it doesn’t look completely done, cook another 30 seconds)
● Unplug the waffle maker, and carefully remove the waffle.
● Slice your waffle in quarters (you only need 3 per tree).
● Stack 3 of your green triangles to look like a tree.
● Flatten out your tootsie roll and place it under the last waffle so it looks like the tree stump.
● Decorate your tree with your Mega M&Ms to replicate ornaments and a star at the top of the tree.
● Serve!
