Linda says
Ann,
Can you use chocolate chips for this recipe in place of the almond bark? Do you find the almond bark at the grocery & does it come in a dark chocolate? When I make chocolate nut candy I use a double boiler, it would work as well, correct?
Thanks,
Linda
Ann says
Ok, stating I have never done it that way, Linda… the almond bark is basically chocolate candy – smoother, easier melting and sweeter than semi-sweet chocolate chips. My guess (just a guess based on working with chocolate chips in the past, I have not done it for this recipe) is if you melt them in a double boiler and then add a teaspoon (or more) of crisco, you’ll end up having a consistency that works.
WalMart carries almond bark, but I do not know if they carry a dark almond bark.

Thank you.

Can you freeze these?
Ann says
Hi Alice,
I never have, but you can freeze chocolate and nuts, so I do not see why not. If you do freeze them, please come back and let us know how they turned out.

Can you put these in little muffin paper cups?
Ann says
Yes, Lynn. That would certainly elevate their look!
