Ombre Soap DIY Tutorial

Ombre has been pretty big the last few years. Ombré – which means “shaded” in French – is the gradual blending of one color hue to another. The colors can move light to dark or dark to light.
You can choose colors that work best with your home color scheme, or your personal preference. The steps are the same, the colors would just change!

Ombre Soap DIY Tutorial Materials:
● Cocoa Butter Block Soap
● Blue Soap Colorant
● Soap Scent (vanilla or your favorite scent!)
● Rubbing Alcohol (and spray bottle if needed)
● Rectangular Soap Mold
● Large Glass Measuring Cup
● Silicone or Wooden Spoon or Stir Stick
Ombre Soap DIY Tutorial Directions:
● Cut your soap block into (approximately) 10 large ice cube size pieces.
● Place your soap cubes into a glass measuring cup.
● Microwave the soap for about 2-3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted.
● Add a ½ teaspoon of soap scent; mix well.
● Pour a small amount of your white soap into the soap mold(s) just covering the bottom of the soap mold. Freeze for approximately 10 minutes.
● Now mix a drop of blue colorant to your measuring cup and mix well.
● Pour the same amount of light blue soap into the soap mold(s) on top of the solid white soap, freeze again for 10 minutes.
● Mix another drop of blue colorant in, pour onto your light blue and freeze again for 5 minutes.
● Keep repeating the add a drop of blue colorant steps until your soap mold is full. You’d like the top color to be your deepest color.
● Spray the top of the soap with rubbing alcohol to remove any bubbles. Freeze for about 30 minutes to ensure your soap has hardened.
● Carefully stretch the sides of your mold and push up on the bottom to remove your soaps.
