This cranberry mimosa drink is a festive holiday beverage. This is a perfect holiday drink for your holiday brunch, it can also be served at cocktail parties, to ring in the New Year, or for any other holiday celebration you may have.
Cranberry Mimosa Drink Recipe
I have heard a cranberry mimosa called the poinsettia drink or poinsettia mimosa. Supposedly this is due to the color of the cocktails, but since a poinsettia is poisonous and would never be used even as a garnish, I think this is one where the poetic license is liberally involved.
Tips and variations for making this Cranberry Mimosa Drink Recipe:
● This drink cannot be made in advance as the champagne or sparkling wine will fall flat.
● The sugared cranberries can however, be made days in advance.
● Step 1-3 can also be prepped in advance. Just add the champagne or sparkling wine as guests arrive.
● You do not have to chill your glasses but you may enjoy a colder cocktail. The sugar is not going to stick to a very cold glass, so this is a better idea if you do not plan on rimming your cranberry mimosa glass.
● Wet for the rimming can be: water, cranberry juice, triple sec, or even champagne or sparkling wine.
● Triple Sec, Orange Curaçao, Cointreau, Grand Marnier, whichever orange liquor you choose based upon your tastebuds will work.
● If you do not like cranberry juice, substitute a cranberry-juice-drink (you can even go diet).
● If you would like to rim the glass with sugar, it will add more sweetness to this beverage. Use the cranberry vodka for the liquid, sugar for the dry.
● Serve with a side of sugared cranberries!
