Here are 10 Things I’ve Learned About Money in my lifetime:
● Money doesn’t buy happiness, but life is a lot less stressful when you can pay the bills.
● Money can’t buy you good health, but it can pay for doctor visits, surgeries and prescriptions that can improve your health.
● Money doesn’t grow on trees, you have to earn it. Or marry it. Or inherit it.
● Money doesn’t talk, but in some arenas it screams loudly.
● Money can’t buy you love, but it can pay for a cheap imitation for a few nights.
● Money’s a horrible thing to follow, but a wonderful thing to meet.
● The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, yet televangelists make a great living asking for cash.
● Time is money but money is not time; you can always make more money, but you can’t make more time.
● If you have the time, you usually don’t have the money. If you have the money, you usually don’t have the time. Such is the life of a DIYer.
● Money makes for a great gift: it is always in style, the color is always right, and one size fits all!

Hi Ann,
I’ve learned to never love something that cannot love you back. Never be cheap with your emotions and share love wherever and whenever you can. A smile costs nothing and can make you feel like a million whether you are the giver or receiver.

Wonderful lessons, Candace.

If you earn as much as you can and spend as little of it as possible, when you pass away your husband can enjoy life with his new wife.
Okay, that sounds kind of snarky. My grandmother was the biggest penny pincher in the world. I remember getting stained yard sale sweaters for my birthday or a purse from Salvo’s with a rusty clasp for Christmas. Don’t get me wrong, I shop at yard sales and love Salvation Army Thrift Shops, but these were the cheapest things she could find. When she passed away in 2012 my grandfather found $250K behind a false wall in the freezer and over $600K between all the bank accounts. He got married this past summer and is happy to not have to worry about money any more. He is 80 now and was working steadily as a tow truck operator until the last part of my grandmother’s illness, he really didn’t know what they had.
I guess my point is to keep all things money related in balance. Always save for a rainy day, but enjoy your life and invest in others within reason.

Wow Lynne, I am not sure what to say … I do hope your grandfather enjoys his new found wealth, and only wish your grandmother had too.

Money is quite allusive and doesn’t like to work. If you are lucky enough to get it to work for you. . . . keep that employee! ROFL!

Nice, Tamona!

Lending money to friends or family causes more problems than it solves.
Ann says
Oh yeah. I have always felt that if I lend money to friends or family, it is a gift. If I get it back, great, but I never expect it back … for the very reason you stated. Barbee.

I didnt know I had it in me cuz I definitely have penny pincher qualities about me in some respects.. but I’ll blow & go in others.. Oh well.. such is life & you cant take it with you. 😉
