These DIY graduation gnomes are not suitable for the garden or outdoor weather. However, this adorable graduation gnome is great for tabletop decor and can be used as part of a centerpiece decoration or as a stand-alone on a tabletop.
Tips and variations for making this graduation gnome craft:
● This is an easy craft. There is no graduation gnome pattern you need to follow; simply step-by-step instructions!
● If you cannot find a cone color for the graduation cap to match your school’s colors, spray paint a white cone.
● If your cone had writing on it, turn it to the back of the gnome. If you want to hide any writing completely, either spray paint over it or cover it with glue and glitter or add an embellishment such as the year to the cone.
● If you end up using spray paint, make sure to allow it to dry completely before continuing on with this craft.
● You should be able to find all craft supplies at a dollar store, other than the hot glue gun.

Graduation Gnome Materials:
● 1 Kids Sock (grey was used)
● Embroidery Thread (yellow was used)
● Hot Glue Stick
● Faux Fur
● Small Cone (green was used)
● 1-2 Cups Dry Rice
● Tan Easter Egg Onion (or large wood bead or pom pom)
Graduation Gnome Tools:

● Hot Glue Gun
How To Make A Graduation Gnome Directions:
1. First, you want to fill the sock with rice. Fill it so that it is about a half-inch below the top of the sock. This will form the gnome body.
2. Next, you want to gather the top of the sock together and tie it off tightly with a piece of the thread. Then cut off any remaining thread.
3. Use a line of hot glue to glue the cone on top of the sock. It should cover the tied-together area of the sock body.
4. Now, cut a piece of the fake fur so that it is just the length of the sock. Fold the top raw edge down slightly and glue it in place.
5. Turn the sock and cone so that a corner of the cone is facing you. Then glue the fur/beard to the sock body just under that corner.
6. Now, pull off one of the round balls from the grass and glue it to the beard just under that corner of the hat/cone.
7. Wrap the embroidery thread around three fingers several times to make a small tassel.
8. Then, at one end, tie the tassel off. At the other end, cut the tassel so that all the strands are individual.
9. Run a piece of thread through that tied-off end of the tassel. Then, tie it around the bottom base of the cone. If you don’t want it to slide around, you can use a small dab of hot glue to hold the tassel in place against the graduation cap.
10. Display as desired.
