If you are a fan of Harry Potter and the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft, you will love this easy-to-make Hogwarts Wreath. It is a fabulous decoration for the Hogwarts fan in your house.
While this was made as an everyday wreath, Harry Potter fans could hang it as a Hogwarts Christmas wreath. However, there is no need to repress your children’s (or your!) Harry Potter fandom until the holidays (although I have seen some gorgeous holiday wreaths for Harry Potter fans, and this could be one of them). Make this Hogwarts wreath and hang it on your front door, your child’s bedroom door, in their room, or for a Harry Potter or Hogwarts-themed party. This is the perfect way to add to your Harry Potter style with a lovely Hogwarts wreath.

Tips and variations for making this Hogwarts Wreath:
● This is not a difficult wreath to make, but it takes some planning. This is set up in a pattern.
There are different colors that need to be purchased, and that is based on the house colors, which are:
● Gryffindor – deep red and gold
● Hufflepuff – yellow and black
● Ravenclaw – deep blue and silver
● Slytherin – green and muted silver
● Ravenclaw and Slytherin are both silver, so one is sparkly, and one is mat to differentiate the two houses in this craft. Ravenclaw’s color is actually bronze, but silver was used in merchandising. If you want to use a bronze tulle, go for it!
The outside ring on this wreath is:
1 color for the house (blue, green, red, yellow)
Main color
House
Secondary Color
House
● All House colors do have a pattern. When it runs against a House block, it is not compelling to me (or my niece). One House went clockwise; one went counterclockwise.
The pattern went: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff. You may decide you prefer a different color match.
● You can use only the Hogwarts gold wizardry crest to make this wreath (3 yards total)
● You can mix the Hogwarts-branded fabric into the Houses.
● You can skip the Hogwarts-branded fabric and only use House fabrics (4 quadrants).
● You can make 8 quadrants: Hogwarts crest, House, Hogwarts crest, House, Hogwarts crest, House, Hogwarts crest, House.
● The patterns on this wreath are completely up to you!
● You can make this into a specific Harry Potter wreath by using different Harry Potter branded materials.
● You can use a wand set or house pins to add interest.
● A bow was not used.
● This is not made as a light-up Hogwarts holiday wreath, although I am sure you could adapt it as such and create a gorgeous holiday wreath. I would use battery-operated lights (they use aaa batteries), which would give you unlimited flexibility on where to hang it and still have it light up!
