This spooky little Halloween eyeball wreath is simple to make by following these step by step tutorial instructions. A fast Halloween decor craft, you can use these mini wreaths to decorate cabinets, desks, or as great Halloween party decor accessory.
Mini Halloween Eyeball Wreath
This is a mini Halloween wreath perfect for a desk, drawer, kitchen cabinet, etc. You could definitely use this idea on a larger wreath, simply adjust your supplies. This easy to make wreath comes together in 10-15 minutes.
Mini Halloween Eyeball Wreath Notes:
● This wreath is quite simple in design. We used eyeballs for the decor and kept it at that. You could add: black cats, lizards, worms, bugs, spiders, cockroaches, etc.
● If using this to decorate cabinets (kitchen, office, school), you can make these all the same, or swap out the tulle colors to change them up, or add some of the creepy-crawlers suggested above to individualize each wreath.
● The mini wreaths can be found at your local dollar store (well, that is where we got ours), and come two in a pack. These directions are for one wreath.
● The hanger is optional. The length you use will be determined by where you would like to hang this mini wreath.
● The wooden witch hats were found in a five-pack at the dollar store.
Mini Halloween Eyeball Wreath Materials:
● Wooden Witch Hat
● Black Acrylic Paint
● Paint Easel, Paper Plate or Aluminum Foil
● Foam Paint Brush
● 1 8″ Wreath Frame
● 3 Different Tulles – slime green, purple, black (you can use orange)
● Plastic Eyeballs
Mini Halloween Eyeball Wreath Tools:
● Hot Glue
● Hot Glue Gun
● Scissors
Mini Halloween Eyeball Wreath Directions:
1. Cover your work surface against paint slips and hot glue incidents.
2. Paint your witch’s hat black on both sides. Allow to dry completely. This is cheap wood, so it dries very quickly and soaks in the paint. If you would like to add a second coat after the first coat of paint is dry, that is fine. This craft only has one coat of paint on the witch hat.
3. How much tulle you use depends on how poofy you make this. The steps are:
4. Weave your base color tulle through the tines. For this craft, it was the green tulle.
5. Scrunch the tulle as you go.
6. Tie off, and hot glue in place.
7. Poof and fluff the tulle to achieve the look you would like.
8. Tie on a simple bow. Purple tulle was used on this craft.
9. Weave a little purple tulle over the top of the poofed green tulle.
10. Tie off and hot glue in place.
11. Hot glue painted witch’s hat at an angle to the right (or left) of the center.
12. Attach a hanger. (optional) We used a piece of black tulle as it matched well.
13. Now, hot glue on plastic eyeballs.
14. Display as desired.
