15 Fabulous Gifts for Cheese Lovers
When Hubby and I traveled through a good portion of Italy last year, we went with the intention of eating, drinking, and relaxing our way through the Italian countryside. Our six-week trip was simply marvelous, and one of the highlights was all the terrific cheeses we got to try. One of the high points of our time in Bologna was a trip to see how Parmigiano-Reggiano is made! Yum!
When we came home we made it an even bigger priority to keep some really great cheeses on hand at all times. We have always kept a wheel of Gouda in the fridge as it is Hubby’s favorite cheese. We brought home a huge wheel from Aruba, and if we make it to the Netherlands on our next European vacation, we will get a wheel one while there. (Aruba is a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.) And, we live in New York State which is home to some tterrific dairy cheeses so having great cheese on hand at all times is pretty easy. And tasty.
Did you know there was a National Cheese Lover’s Day? Americans celebrate all things cheesy on January 20, one of 18 specific days honoring cheese. If you have ever walked into the grocery store “just to pick up a few things” and strolled out with two kinds of goat cheese, then you understand when I say cheese life is real!
