Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe
Looking for a terrific bacon cookies recipe? Like chocolate chip cookies? Like bacon? Then I bet you and your family will enjoy these delicious bacon chocolate chip cookies. The bacon adds a bit of salt to compliment the sweet. For some reason, bacon and chocolate just go together well (two of my favorite foods, whoohoo!!).
Note: make sure you cook the bacon well so it is nice and crispy to add to your dough.
These directions state a handheld mixer, but there is no reason you cannot use a stand-up mixer. Just add the chocolate chips and bacon together and stir by hand (like you would for most other chocolate chip cookie recipes)/

Anything with bacon in it tastes better. I’ve never tried it in chocolate chip cookies but I’m a firm believer that bacon doesn’t hurt anything.

Omg! Sounds delicious!

These cookies sound so good a must make I think. One of ingredients I have never seen or heard, Butter flavoured Crisco here in Australia, so was wondering if I used melted butter instead…?
Ann says
Lindi, this is butter flavored crisco.
Generally speaking, you can substitute butter for shortening. I know the cookies will spread more if you do, so take that into account. Reading this BHG article, it also states the cookies will be softer.
Good luck, and if you do substitute, please let us know how much butter you used, and how the cookies turned out.

You can also use butter extract with regular shortening. You get the desired texture from the shortening and the yummy butter flavor.

I have a recipe similar to this and I love it! My peeps are very suspicious, though…they’d rather the bacon for breakfast…their loss!
