Tips and variations for making this Blood and Glass Halloween Pudding Cups Recipe:
● You can use a stand mixer or hand mixer to make the pudding.
● You can use any brand of instant pudding or gelatin mix you like.
● White chocolate pudding is used, but vanilla pudding can be substituted.
● Consider adding some purple, orange, or green food coloring (or food gel) to your pudding mixture to make a colored pudding.
● If you do not like white chocolate pudding (or vanilla pudding), use a different pudding flavor of your choice.
● Another fun idea would be to make some whipped cream and color it with red food coloring. Place the whipped cream into a piping bag with the tip of your choice and squirt it on top of the pudding cups.
● Use whole milk. I will admit I do use 2% milk to make pudding quite often.
● You can get more servings by using smaller cups.
● You can use light or white corn syrup.
● The candy glass can get very sticky; use a little powdered sugar on your fingertips when handling the candy, and it will not stick to your fingers.
● The thinner the candy glass is, the clearer the glass looks. Sugar can turn a little yellow when heated, so the candy will have a little yellowish tinge. If you pour the candy very thin, it will appear less yellow, and it will set faster.
● The candy is very sweet but has little to no flavor. You can add a flavor extract to get some taste to it if you like, but use a clear-colored flavor, not a colored one.
● Instead of eyes, add gummy worms to the top.
● If you want to add color to your glass, use a highly concentrated gel color.
● We keep a soft rubber mallet in the kitchen that is used only for food.
● This recipe is made with simple ingredients commonly found in your local grocery store.
This recipe, Killer Cupcakes Recipe | Slay Your Taste Buds, also uses edible glass shards.
