This super easy to make candy cane milkshake is a fresh, crisp, refreshing adult cocktail perfect for the holiday season. If you like the cool taste of peppermint, you will adore this festive holiday beverage.
Boozy Candy Cane Shake Recipe
Notes:
● This uses vanilla frosting to rim as candy canes can be heavy. If you crush your candy canes to be very fine, you should be able to rim using the peppermint schnapps as the wet, and finely crushed candy canes just around the top of your glass. Click here for the easy directions on how to rim a cocktail glass.
● You can use melted white chocolate as the “wet” for rimming! Just be sure to roll in the crushed candy cane before the chocolate hardens.
● To crush the candy canes… a plastic bag is probably optimal, although I’ve used a piece of wax paper folded in half before. Just make sure you keep it tight in the middle and don’t let the candy cane pieces squirt out the sides.
● You can use a rubber mallet, hammer, or rolling pin to crush the candy canes.
● This makes approximately 52-54 ounces off boozy milkshake. It depends on how much you can get out of your blender, and how large your scoops of ice cream are. Plan accordingly for glass rimming. Four glasses would equal 13 ounces each, three glasses about 17 ounces, two glasses, about 26 ounces of this boozy candy cane shake. I cannot imagine anyone drinking all of this alone, buuuuuuut…
● You can add a few drops of peppermint extract to the blender mixture for some extra cool in your shake!

Boozy Candy Cane Shake Directions:

● Roll the frosting covered rims into the crushed candy canes and place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to allow the frosting to harden a bit.
● Remove two tablespoons of crushed candy cane for later use, and set that aside.
● Combine remaining crushed candy canes (minus the reserved two tablespoons), vanilla ice cream, cool whip, cold milk and ½ cup Peppermint Schnapps in a blender. Pulse/blend for 30-45 seconds.
