I labeled this a “holiday” bread, but you can serve it anytime. This is a great taste of fall! It is a little different due to the apple filling, but that just makes it an even better seasonal loaf bread. Perfect in autumn and winter.
Tips for making this Cinnamon Apple and Walnut Holiday Bread Recipe:
● You can add or subtract the amount of ground cinnamon and allspice according to your taste. If you love or hate one, add or subtract!
● If you feel your dough is too dry, add a splash of milk. Do not go overboard.
● If using a loaf pan, once you grease and flour, add a + of parchment paper to the bottom of the pan for easy removal. This is optional.
Cinnamon Apple and Walnut Holiday Bread Recipe Ingredients:
● 2/3 cup White Granulated Sugar
● 1 cup Brown Sugar, divided
● ½ cup Butter, softened
● ¼ cup Cinnamon Applesauce
● 2 large Eggs, lightly beaten
● 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
● 1/3 cup Milk
● 2 cups All-purpose Flour
● ½ tsp Salt
● ½ tsp Baking Powder
● 2 Granny Smith apples, peeled and chopped
● ½ tsp Allspice
● ½ tsp ground Cinnamon
● 1 cup chopped Walnuts
● 3 TBSP Butter, melted and divided
Cinnamon Apple and Walnut Holiday Bread Mise en Place:
● Loaf or Bundt Pan
● Stand Mixer, bowl and beaters
● Measuring Spoons

Cinnamon Apple and Walnut Holiday Bread Recipe Directions:
1. Grease and flour a loaf or Bundt pan; set aside.
2. Preheat oven to 350°F.
3. Using a stand mixer, add 2/3 of a cup of white sugar, ½ cup brown sugar, and ½ cup softened butter to a mixing bowl and cream together until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
4. Add ¼ cup of cinnamon apple applesauce, two lightly beaten large eggs, and one teaspoon of vanilla extract to the creamed ingredients and mix just until incorporated into the mixture.
5. Add 1/3 cup milk to the batter and mix together until just incorporated into the mixture.
6. In a separate bowl, combine two cups of all-purpose flour, ½ teaspoon of salt, and ½ teaspoon of baking powder to a bowl. Whisk dry ingredients together.
7. Slowly add the flour mixture into the mixing bowl to combine.
8. In a separate, small bowl, combine two peeled, cored, chopped granny smith apples, remaining ½ cup brown sugar, ½ teaspoon allspice, ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon, one tablespoon melted butter, and one cup of chopped walnuts. Mix well.
9. Spread half of the batter into your prepared pan.
10. Pour the apple mixture on top of the batter.
11. Spread the rest of the batter on top of the apple mixture in the pan.
12. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 45 minutes.
13. Remove bread from oven and brush the remaining two tablespoons of melted butter over the bread.
14. Return pan to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
