Easy Halloween Rice Crispy Treats Recipe
While not appropriate to hand out to trick-or-treaters, these are great tasty treats for a school Halloween party, home Halloween parties, school lunchboxes, and office parties.
Monster rice Krispie treats come in all colors and shapes. Use a spooky color such as purple, orange, and green, along with decorations and candy melts to make mummy rice Krispie treats, monster rice Krispie treats, Frankenstein rice Krispies, spiderwebs, eye monsters, etc. on a stick! The sky is the limit on what you can do to dress up regular rice Krispie treats and make some festive Halloween rice Krispie treats. Heck, use cut candy such as mini peanut butter cups, candy corn, green m&ms (orange would work too), or gooey marshmallow bits to form a Halloween graveyard or junk pop. There is no wrong way to decorate these fun Halloween treats, which is what makes them perfect for decorating with kids.
These no-bake Halloween treats take the spooky treat fun to the next level, so make a batch today!
Tips and variations for making these rice crispy treats:
● Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies® cereal was used to make these treats. Any crispy rice cereal will work. You can use cocoa Krispies if you would like a brown base.
● Mini marshmallows were used in this recipe. If you use large marshmallows, you may have to adjust the amount used upward slightly or cut them, so they better fill the measuring cup for a more accurate measurement.
● This is a microwave preparation, not a stovetop.
● Milk chocolate chips were used in this recipe. You can use semi-sweet, dark chocolate, white chocolate, butterscotch, etc. melted chips if you prefer. You can also use chocolate melts if that is easier for you.
● White chocolate chunks were used in this recipe. If you prefer, use white chocolate melts.
● Use candy food coloring, which is generally an oil-based food coloring and marked as such, to color your white chocolate. Use as many different colors as you like.
● Black gel in the candy applied with a toothpick or a black food pen works well for shaping scars, drawing moths and eyes, etc.
● How to make vanilla extract
● These fun treats are made with simple ingredients commonly found in your local grocery store.

Easy Halloween Rice Crispy Treats Recipe Directions:

2. In a large bowl, place the marshmallows and the butter. Microwave on high for approximately 1 minute to melt them together.
3. Add the vanilla and stir.
4. Add the crispy rice cereal to the melted marshmallow mixture and stir to combine.
5. Press the crispy rice mixture into the prepared baking pan.
6. Place the crispy rice bars pan into the fridge and chill for approximately 15 mins.
7. Remove the crispy rice bars from the fridge and cut them into 16 2×3 inch pieces.
8. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave.
9. Dip the end of the lollipop stick into the chocolate and then push the stick through the middle of the crispy rice treat. Continue to do this with all the bars.
10. Once all of the crispy rice have lollipop sticks, place the treats in the freezer on a baking sheet for 20 minutes.
11. While the crispy rice bars are in the freezer, melt the white chocolate in the microwave on high for 20-second increments until smooth; divide and add a few drops of candy food coloring to each small bowl. You can use one color, two colors, or as many as you like. I suggest orange, green, and purple.
12. Remove the treats from the freezer.
13. Dip the end of the rice Krispie treats into the melted colored chocolate and allow excess to drip off.
14. While the chocolate is still wet, add sprinkles, candy eyes, and decorations. If you plan on double dipping (two or three different colors), allow the first drip to dry before dipping in a different color.
15. Place the treats back in the fridge on a parchment or wax paper-lined baking sheet to set for approximately 10 minutes.
16. Wait until the chocolate is completely hardened before wrapping these Halloween rice Krispies.
17. Store leftovers in an airtight container in a cool place where the chocolate cannot melt.
