You can use store-bought dulce de leche or make your own. Here is how to make homemade dulce de leche:
1. Fill a few ramekins with condensed milk. Cover the top with aluminum foil to avoid the condensed milk getting burnt.
2. Put the ramekins in a pan and fill the pan with hot water.
3. Bake in am oven for 1 hr 45 mins at 425°F.
Tips and variations for making these Easy Snickers Stuffed Cookie Cups:
● If you want a peanut-free version, try using a Mars bar or Milky Ways and omit the peanuts on top.
● Instead of peanuts on top, candy bar pieces, caramel bits, chocolate chunks, or milk chocolate pieces would work.
● Instead of dulce de leche, try drizzling melted chocolate over the top.
● The cups can be cooled completely in the pan; however, it is a little tougher to get them out if you wait.
● Depending on the type of store-bought dulce de leche sauce you use, it may be a little thin. If you want to thicken it, place the dulce de leche in a saucepan and heat on medium, stirring continuously until it is the desired consistency. Keep in mind that it will thicken as it cools.
● Use fun-sized or miniature Snickers bars (Snickers minis). You could use a full-sized Snickers bar, but you would have to figure out how big the Snickers pieces need to be to go into your cookie cup (I have not done it).
