If you have a holiday get-together and/or party between now and the holidays, make these for the over 21 crowd!! They really are good. And they will remind everyone of when they were 21 (or 18) again!
I make the best Eggnog in the world – in my not so humble opinion. It is absolutely fantastic. You can find that homemade eggnog recipe by clicking here. When I made these eggnog jello shots, I designed the recipe based on that homemade eggnog recipe – minus the eggs of course.
While I show most of these eggnog jello shots photographs with whipped cream and sprinkles, the truth is I prefer these with just a dash of extra nutmeg on top – just a pinch. Mmmm yum!

Jello Shots are pretty easy to make. This is the basic recipe anyone can follow:
● 2 packets unflavored gelatin
● 1 cup water
● 1 cup of: vodka/rum/tequila/whiskey/schnapps/liqueurs
The 1 cup of some sort of spirits is the key. The different flavor combinations of alcoholic beverages are what makes the tasty jello shot varieties when using unflavored gelatin.
The souffle cups are 2oz, and a shot glass is 1oz, 1.5oz or 2oz normally, so you may get a different number of servings depending on the vessel you use to set the gelatin.

I made these (and 3 other recipes for jello shots) for a Christmas party yesterday. Everyone loved the eggnog flavor, but our group found the texture odd. I think of smooth, creaminess when I think of eggnog. Using the unflavored gelatin gave these a jello consistency that none of us cared for. I think next time I will use vanilla instant pudding instead to get a creamy mouth-feel.

Michelle, if you want a creamy pudding texture, try these eggnog pudding shots. That may be more of what you are looking for.

Thanks! I looked over that pudding recipe and will likely try it next weekend for another holiday party.
