Note: an 8 ounce container of Cool Whip (or store brand whipped topping) equals 3 cups. If you would like more whipped topping on top of your pie, a 12 ounce container of (or store brand whipped topping) has 4½ cups of whipped topping. A 16 ounce container of Cool Whip has 6½ cups of whipped topping for regular, 6¾cups for lite. You can make this pie with regular or lite whipped topping.
If you would like to make your own pie crust, I highly recommend this easy pie crust dough recipe! I was never able to make a decent, consistent pie crust until I stumbled upon and tweaked this recipe years ago. Now, my dessert pie crusts are perfect and oh so sweet!
