Nutella: nature’s perfect food! Nature, Ferraro Factory, toe-may-toe, toe-mah-toe.
When Hubby and I took a long trip to Italy in 2019, we visited Alba to do some wine tastings (and purchased Barbera wines). We had a guide do the tastings with us and drive us around the area. As we drove by the Ferrero factory and ohed and ah-ed over the idea of visiting, he quickly disabused us of the notion saying it was, “Like the Willy Wonka Chocolate factory. You’d need a golden ticket to get in.”
That was a bummer. Apparently, Ferrero Rocher does not have tours of any type.
Nevertheless, Nutella is one of my favorite “bad” foods; sugar, hazelnut, and cocoa… what’s not to love?

Tips and variations for making this Nutella Pistachio Fudge Recipe:
● I use roasted and salted pistachios. If using unsalted pistachios, add ¼ teaspoon of salt when adding the chopped pistachios.
● I used (and prefer) Nutella, but you can use any Hazelnut-Chocolate Spread.
● Double boiler – The only thing you have to watch for is that your chocolates are melting at pretty much the same rate in the double boiler. And please use a double boiler and do not melt the chocolate in a microwave. The double boiler will prevent burning and hardening, and the microwave does not.
● A candy thermometer is not necessary to make this recipe.
● This Nutella fudge recipe is made from simple ingredients commonly found in your local grocery store.
● This delicious fudge recipe is made with semi-sweet chocolate chips. If you prefer, you can substitute bittersweet chocolate chips, dark chocolate chips, or milk chocolate chips. Realize that the taste will change.
● A square baking dish is used for this fudge. You can use a loaf pan, springform pan, or another type of baking pan to make this decadent Nutella fudge; the choice is yours.
● At current writing, 14 ounces is the standard size of a can of sweetened condensed milk in the United States.
● If you plan on making 36 servings, that is cutting 6 rows x 6 rows. If you plan on making 25 servings, that is cutting 5 rows by 5 rows.
● Place one sheet of parchment paper across the pan. Place the second sheet of parchment paper across the first sheet (to form an +).
● It is best if the rest of the ingredients are not altered as they specifically complement or counteract each other in the perfect manner. I would not be able to offer any other suggestions as substitutions that would work in the same manner.
● Fudge can be stored in the fridge or freezer in an airtight container. It will last up to two weeks in either situation. Do not store fudge at room temperature.

3. When the chips are melted, add in the chopped pistachios (reserve two (2) tablespoons of chopped pistachios to garnish). Mix until well combined.
