Tips and variations for making this pull-apart apple butter bread recipe:
While this mouthwatering pull-apart apple butter bread recipe will satisfy your cravings and delight your tastebuds, here are some tips that can enhance your baking experience:
● 4½ teaspoons of instant yeast is 2 packets
You can use homemade apple butter or store-bought apple butter, whichever you prefer.
● This recipe is only sweet if you top it with caramel. Otherwise, this recipe is only sweetened with honey and apple butter, so it is tart in flavor. The caramel sauce adds the sweetness.
● Measure flour by spooning it into the measuring cup and leveling it off with a knife. If the flour is too compacted, you may end up with dry bread.
● Instant Yeast is vital to this recipe. The process changes if using dry active yeast, so the instant version is necessary.
You can add a small amount of apple pie spice or other warm spices such as nutmeg or cloves, for a different flavor.
● You can make the dough in advance and either refrigerate it or freeze it. If making in advance, do not allow it to rise. Cover the dough in plastic wrap and place in the fridge or freezer. When you are ready to use it, simply place it in a bowl and allow it to come to room temperature. Once at room temperature, cover and place in a warm place for 30 minutes and continue with the apple butter steps.
This is not a bread machine recipe.
● Store leftovers in an airtight container or covered in plastic wrap for up to 4 days. If the weather is humid, it may turn faster.
● You can freeze this bread or a portion of this bread. Just place in an airtight container, foodsaver, or wrap in plastic wrap and then in aluminum foil and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw on the counter and enjoy when it is at room temperature.
● This recipe is made from common ingredients found at your local grocery stores.
